I finally got paid for my commission this week so I actually have money. Prior to that, I was super super broke. I wanted to stake a buddy at the WSOP ME, but I didn't even have $50. I was still pulling for him. He busted out on Day 2. Good work though D. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I made my 2nd sale at the job that isn't so fun. Commission is same as last time. So sweet! Looks like I'll stick around for a little while. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Working 2 full time jobs. Picked up a bar managing position with a former employer and friend. Job is going well, but just lots of hours. Cool bar. Check it out www.sullivansmke.com . We have a "Redneck Party" coming up where we're serving Boones' Farm and boxes 'o wine. Also, $1 PBRs. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Haven't been playing much. Haven't had the time. I'm actually playing right now in a $25 tourney at AP. I tripled up early with a set of 8s vs. 4 flush and pair of aces mid kicker. I then had a guy dead to rights. He limped with JJ and I had 22 in sb. 4 to the flop. 9 high with a set for me. Get it all in on turn and he caught a river Jack. I'm still a litlle above average, but that would've put me at bully level. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Now I'm out. I sold a package for the PGA Championship in Michigan next year. It is possible. I actually have a $150K quote and deal pending right now. I would only make 5% on that one, but it's very possible. I hope I land it. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Playing very little poker. Took out $100 from AP because I was pissed off about losing about $120 on the river with my monsters against hands that were capping on draws and shouldn't have even been in preflop. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Cool Apple montage. If you pay attention you can catch me on my roller skates about 2 minutes in. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;object width="425" height="350"&gt;&lt;param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/NDhDp8xGDvg"&gt;&lt;/param&gt;&lt;param name="wmode" value="transparent"&gt;&lt;/param&gt;&lt;embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/NDhDp8xGDvg" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"&gt;&lt;/embed&gt;&lt;/object&gt;&lt;div class="blogger-post-footer"&gt;&lt;img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/3207198383462072232-2336999828636230667?l=pokergumby.blogspot.com' alt='' /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</content><link rel='replies' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://pokergumby.blogspot.com/feeds/2336999828636230667/comments/default' title='Post Comments'/><link rel='replies' type='text/html' href='http://www.blogger.com/comment.g?blogID=3207198383462072232&amp;postID=2336999828636230667&amp;isPopup=true' title='0 Comments'/><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/3207198383462072232/posts/default/2336999828636230667'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/3207198383462072232/posts/default/2336999828636230667'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://pokergumby.blogspot.com/2007/06/job-is-improving.html' title='Job is Improving'/><author><name>GUMBY</name><uri>http://www.blogger.com/profile/07135836910198268395</uri><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail' width='23' height='32' src='http://img81.imageshack.us/img81/2366/gumbytuxedo4qf.gif'/></author><thr:total>0</thr:total></entry><entry><id>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3207198383462072232.post-5308738991950273387</id><published>2007-05-12T10:03:00.000-06:00</published><updated>2007-05-12T11:37:06.315-06:00</updated><title type='text'>Job Stinks</title><content type='html'>So after 3 weeks, I've realized how difficult it is to sell these seeming easy sells. I've had many quotes out there for packages, but nothing has panned out yet. I haven't stopped looking for jobs since I started this one. One of those sent out resumes has to get me a job I want. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I started my new volleyball league last week. It's outdoor sand at a bar in the area. We play in a mens' 4s and a coed 6s league. The 4s league is very competitive. I messed up my toe when I was running to get a ball that was dug. My teammate didn't move and I ended up sticking my big toe into his leg. It looked like crap the next day. The top of my toe was black and blue and my entire foot was red. It looks much better now and feels much better too. It still needs some time to heal though. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I worked at my serving job for maybe the last time on Thurday night. I was working a party for some pharmaceutical company, and the guy was bitching about the bill. The room that the guy rented is a $1500 minimum. We don't charge for the use of the room, we just ask (and make you sign a contract) that says you must spend that amount while you're there. No takeouts or gift certs. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The party they had was originally booked for 20. When one of the hosts arrived, he said there'd only be 16. So we had to rearrange the tables and then only 13 show up. Now we have some good wines there. We asked the host if he wanted to get some nice wines because he wasn't going to hit the minimum. He only got the house bottles at $30 and $40 a piece. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Long story short, he was about $600 short of the minimum and was charged the rest on a room charge. To backtrack a little, when he came in, he thought that he could use the rest of the tab to get gift certificates. That was a policy of the restaurant before I started, but it had changed because of drug reps taking advantage from their company's point of view. So now he's not happy that it's $1500+tax+18% gratuity. He didn't want to tip on the full $1500, only on the $900 or so. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;He cried and cried and we showed him the contract he signed. He said he didn't have time to read the contract. Uhhhh, first you don't read a contract that you sign. Secondly, it's about 50 words. What a joke he was. He left pissed off and we probably won't see him again. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;As for poker, I only get to play about once a week for about an hour or two. Actually played a little this morning and was up about $30, then managed to make only $6. Was 2 tabling .50/1 and .25/.50. I have about $90 in AP and $130 in Bugsy's. Trying to turn this into about $10K the Chris Ferguson way. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I just realized that I should set a goal for this. I'm going to play about once a week of super solid poker and try to play in 1 tourney a week. My goal is $5K by the end of summer. I know it's not very realistic, but I'm hoping to win a nice tourney. We'll see how this goes. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Take care,&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Keith&lt;div class="blogger-post-footer"&gt;&lt;img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/3207198383462072232-5308738991950273387?l=pokergumby.blogspot.com' alt='' /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</content><link rel='replies' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://pokergumby.blogspot.com/feeds/5308738991950273387/comments/default' title='Post Comments'/><link rel='replies' type='text/html' href='http://www.blogger.com/comment.g?blogID=3207198383462072232&amp;postID=5308738991950273387&amp;isPopup=true' title='0 Comments'/><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/3207198383462072232/posts/default/5308738991950273387'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/3207198383462072232/posts/default/5308738991950273387'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://pokergumby.blogspot.com/2007/05/job-stinks.html' title='Job Stinks'/><author><name>GUMBY</name><uri>http://www.blogger.com/profile/07135836910198268395</uri><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail' width='23' height='32' src='http://img81.imageshack.us/img81/2366/gumbytuxedo4qf.gif'/></author><thr:total>0</thr:total></entry><entry><id>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3207198383462072232.post-3212199228790365994</id><published>2007-04-27T22:39:00.000-06:00</published><updated>2007-04-27T23:27:43.206-06:00</updated><title type='text'>Tourney Results</title><content type='html'>I took third in the $5 tourney for $27.75. I went out with A-K and the big stack called with 6-x or some bullshit hand and caught his tiny pair. It was a pretty big raise too. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;In the $30 buy-in, I was chip leader for a majority of the tourney, then this hand came up. Sorry that it's like this, I can't find a hand converter for Bugsy's Club. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Hand Number: 432,558,637&lt;br /&gt;Table Number: 6,054,582&lt;br /&gt;Event Name: $20,000 SUPER LEAGUE (#3866303)&lt;br /&gt;Event Started: Friday April 27th 8:30:01 PM CDT 2007&lt;br /&gt;Event Type: Real Money Tournament&lt;br /&gt;Event Buy-In: $30+$3 ($1,500 guaranteed)&lt;br /&gt;Total Prize Pool: $2,040&lt;br /&gt;Game: No Limit Hold 'em&lt;br /&gt;Level XII: 300 Ante 1,000/2,000 Blinds (100 Minimum Chip)&lt;br /&gt;Average Stack: 61,818.18 (10,000 starting chips)&lt;br /&gt;Remaining Players: 11 (68 started)&lt;br /&gt;Seat 1 : PTPokah starts with 46,400&lt;br /&gt;Seat 4 : johnnyboy57 starts with 29,400&lt;br /&gt;Seat 6 : maries starts with 73,500&lt;br /&gt;Seat 7 : GUMBY55 starts with 147,600&lt;br /&gt;Seat 8 : TILTER starts with 44,400&lt;br /&gt;Seat 9 : RRONDO starts with 32,700&lt;br /&gt;Seat 6 : maries has the dealer button &lt;br /&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;DEALING HOLE CARDS&lt;&lt;&lt;&lt;br /&gt;GUMBY55 dealt down Ac Qh &lt;br /&gt;PTPokah posts the ante 300&lt;br /&gt;johnnyboy57 posts the ante 300&lt;br /&gt;maries posts the ante 300&lt;br /&gt;GUMBY55 posts the ante 300&lt;br /&gt;TILTER posts the ante 300&lt;br /&gt;RRONDO posts the ante 300&lt;br /&gt;GUMBY55 posts the small blind 1,000&lt;br /&gt;TILTER posts the big blind 2,000&lt;br /&gt;RRONDO folds &lt;br /&gt;PTPokah folds &lt;br /&gt;johnnyboy57 folds &lt;br /&gt;maries raises 6,800 to 8,800&lt;br /&gt;GUMBY55 raises 21,400 to 30,200&lt;br /&gt;TILTER folds &lt;br /&gt;maries raises 43,000 to 73,200 and is all-in&lt;br /&gt;RRONDO: i was worried about steal getting some pts but she he blew it&lt;br /&gt;GUMBY55 calls 43,000&lt;br /&gt;maries cards were Ah Kd &lt;br /&gt;GUMBY55 cards were Qh Ac &lt;br /&gt;TILTER: lars is going down&lt;br /&gt;GUMBY55: nh&lt;br /&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;DEALING FLOP&lt;&lt;&lt; [ As 9d 8s ]&lt;br /&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;DEALING TURN&lt;&lt;&lt; [ Tc ]&lt;br /&gt;GUMBY55: J&lt;br /&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;DEALING RIVER&lt;&lt;&lt; [ Th ]&lt;br /&gt;maries wins 150,200 with two pair, aces and tens&lt;br /&gt;maries: ty sir&lt;br /&gt;TILTER: nh&lt;br /&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;SUMMARY&lt;&lt;&lt;&lt;br /&gt;Hand Ended: Friday April 27th 11:32:07 PM CDT 2007&lt;br /&gt;Total Pot: 150,200&lt;br /&gt;Board: [ As 9d 8s Tc Th ]&lt;br /&gt;Seat 1 : PTPokah lost 300, folded pre-flop&lt;br /&gt;Seat 4 : johnnyboy57 lost 300, folded pre-flop&lt;br /&gt;Seat 6 : maries (button) bet 73,500, won 150,200, net +76,700, showed hand [ Ah&lt;br /&gt;Kd ]&lt;br /&gt;Seat 7 : GUMBY55 (small blind) lost 73,500, showed hand [ Qh Ac ]&lt;br /&gt;Seat 8 : TILTER (big blind) lost 2,300, folded pre-flop&lt;br /&gt;Seat 9 : RRONDO lost 300, folded pre-flop&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So even if I see a flop, we are getting all the chips in there I think. After the reraise preflop, there was too much in there to fold, was just hoping for a coin flip.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I'm actually at the final table now, so I'm guaranteed $40. About $7 more than what I paid. Soooooo, I'm playing super tight and just hoping some other jokers go out before me for a boost in pay. Push all in with big hands and fold the rest. We'll see. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I've decided to blog the final table. Not much has been going on. On the bubble, I was pushing all in with a few hands just to stay afloat. I have 37K right now with 500 ante and blinds at 1500/3000. There were only 68 to start with so nobody has a huge stack. First is $612 so a big difference between where I'm at now and where I could be. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Moving on. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I've been getting big hands prior to the final table, but now nothing yet. Still have 10. My blind is coming up next hand. Haven't seen better than 10 high yet. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Pushed with K-10 in the cutoff. No callers. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Pushed again UTG+2 with A-10. No callers.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Staying alive with 44K.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;2 limpers, A-8 os in sb, I push. All fold. 56K.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Folded 33 to a raise and reraise. Good thing, KK flopped a set. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;All in with A-J os with 1 limper takes it. 58K.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Things are loosening up, but still nobody out.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;55 all in walks. 75K and a chance. Blinds up to 3K/6K with a 1K ante. It's going to pick up real quick. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Finally, someone gets knocked out. Very next hand, I get A-10 os and push. Run into Kings and I'm out in 9th for $61.20. So about $30 for a few hours. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I had a good time and I played well. A few hands I regret, but I played brilliantly otherwise. I wish I had more time to play tourneys. However, I think I play better when I only play a little. I get antsy otherwise. Won $50 for the night, so I'm happy.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Going paintballing in the morning for a friend's bachelor party so I'm done playing for the night. Then a busy night tomorrow. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Good Night,&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;b&gt;Keith&lt;/b&gt;&lt;div class="blogger-post-footer"&gt;&lt;img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/3207198383462072232-3212199228790365994?l=pokergumby.blogspot.com' alt='' /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</content><link rel='replies' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://pokergumby.blogspot.com/feeds/3212199228790365994/comments/default' title='Post Comments'/><link rel='replies' type='text/html' href='http://www.blogger.com/comment.g?blogID=3207198383462072232&amp;postID=3212199228790365994&amp;isPopup=true' title='0 Comments'/><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/3207198383462072232/posts/default/3212199228790365994'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/3207198383462072232/posts/default/3212199228790365994'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://pokergumby.blogspot.com/2007/04/tourney-results.html' title='Tourney Results'/><author><name>GUMBY</name><uri>http://www.blogger.com/profile/07135836910198268395</uri><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail' width='23' height='32' src='http://img81.imageshack.us/img81/2366/gumbytuxedo4qf.gif'/></author><thr:total>0</thr:total></entry><entry><id>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3207198383462072232.post-7186352956855468637</id><published>2007-04-27T21:06:00.000-06:00</published><updated>2007-04-27T21:41:55.366-06:00</updated><title type='text'>Lots of News</title><content type='html'>&lt;b&gt;New Job&lt;/b&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;First off, I have a new job. It's inside sales so lots of calls, but I don't mind it. Once I hit my first sale, all the calls will be worth it. I am selling hospitality packages for major sporting events. Check out the website www.sportsmanagement.net &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;If you see any events you and some clients, or top salesman want to hit up, let me know and I'll put together a package for you. Right now, I'm selling the BMW Championship at Cog Hill. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;b&gt;Cubbies Game&lt;/b&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Went down to Chicago to watch my Cubs beat up on the Brewers. It was a great time with 17 of my closest friends. It's usually tough to find that many people, but 7 of us came down from Milwaukee on the bus. It made for a long, enjoyable, but very f*#king cold day.Brought in a few flasks to keep myself warm. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;b&gt;Poker&lt;/b&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Haven't been playing much, but I am playing tonight. Doing well in 2 tourneys that I'm in over at Bugsy's Club. $30 buy in I'm chip leader with 105K with 24 left and average stack around 28K. The other tourney I'm chip leader with 65K with 13 left and average stack around 28K. The bigger one pays top 10 and the smaller one pays top 5. If you're around, stop by and say hi. GUMBY55&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Tourney report after they're both done. Need to concentrate now. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Take it easy and have good luck at the tables. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;b&gt;KEITH&lt;/b&gt;&lt;div class="blogger-post-footer"&gt;&lt;img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/3207198383462072232-7186352956855468637?l=pokergumby.blogspot.com' alt='' /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</content><link rel='replies' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://pokergumby.blogspot.com/feeds/7186352956855468637/comments/default' title='Post Comments'/><link rel='replies' type='text/html' href='http://www.blogger.com/comment.g?blogID=3207198383462072232&amp;postID=7186352956855468637&amp;isPopup=true' title='0 Comments'/><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/3207198383462072232/posts/default/7186352956855468637'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/3207198383462072232/posts/default/7186352956855468637'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://pokergumby.blogspot.com/2007/04/lots-of-news.html' title='Lots of News'/><author><name>GUMBY</name><uri>http://www.blogger.com/profile/07135836910198268395</uri><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail' width='23' height='32' src='http://img81.imageshack.us/img81/2366/gumbytuxedo4qf.gif'/></author><thr:total>0</thr:total></entry><entry><id>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3207198383462072232.post-1908654028737978355</id><published>2007-04-12T06:19:00.000-06:00</published><updated>2007-04-12T06:31:34.830-06:00</updated><title type='text'>Couldn't Sleep</title><content type='html'>&lt;script language="JavaScript"&gt;var host = document.location;document.write("&lt;iframe src=\"http://www.pokertube.com/MakePlayer.aspx?host="+ host +"&amp;movieID=c4f0ca00-d559-4ef4-a39e-e8cfc18d3ae7\" frameborder=\"0\" height=\"374\" width=\"434\" scrolling=\"No\"&gt;&lt;/iframe&gt;");&lt;/script&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I woke up around 6 AM and couldn't fall asleep, so I did some internet surfing and came upon this little gem. Hellmuth gets tilty and then starts swearing. It's great! &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Then Negreanu gets coolered yet again in High Stakes Poker. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Plus, some good news. Up to $120 on AP. Played some .25/.50 and .50/1 limit and .05/.10 NL. Made $10 playing NL. $20 in one table of .25/.50. The rest was made at the .50/1 tables. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Then I made $10 in one hand playing 1/2 limit. Waited for the bb to get around to me, which I always do. Got dealt Q-10s and flopped the nuts. A-K-x spades. I check, short stack with $10 in front of him bets. I call. Turn K. I bet, he thinks and raises and we just get it all in there. He turns over A-3 os and I take it down. Table broke after that and I didn't find a good 1/2 game to get into. So that's why I play NL. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;With $120, I have 6 buy-ins for .50/1 or 3 buy-ins for 1/2. I'll try to stick with the lower limit until I have a cushion, but will keep my eyes open for some juicy 1/2 tables. You don't know how many times the betting was capped, even on the river, when I had the nuts. What a donkfest!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;b&gt;GUMBY&lt;/b&gt;&lt;div class="blogger-post-footer"&gt;&lt;img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/3207198383462072232-1908654028737978355?l=pokergumby.blogspot.com' alt='' /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</content><link rel='replies' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://pokergumby.blogspot.com/feeds/1908654028737978355/comments/default' title='Post Comments'/><link rel='replies' type='text/html' href='http://www.blogger.com/comment.g?blogID=3207198383462072232&amp;postID=1908654028737978355&amp;isPopup=true' title='0 Comments'/><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/3207198383462072232/posts/default/1908654028737978355'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/3207198383462072232/posts/default/1908654028737978355'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://pokergumby.blogspot.com/2007/04/couldnt-sleep.html' title='Couldn&apos;t Sleep'/><author><name>GUMBY</name><uri>http://www.blogger.com/profile/07135836910198268395</uri><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail' width='23' height='32' src='http://img81.imageshack.us/img81/2366/gumbytuxedo4qf.gif'/></author><thr:total>0</thr:total></entry><entry><id>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3207198383462072232.post-7896731281163817923</id><published>2007-04-10T23:05:00.000-06:00</published><updated>2007-04-10T23:23:26.138-06:00</updated><title type='text'>My Progress</title><content type='html'>&lt;b&gt;Opening Day &amp; the Cubs&lt;/b&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Opening day was a blast! Had a bunch of beers and got some sun. Ended up passing out in my car after a keg stand, but I still had a great time. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I was able to get to 2 of the Cubs/Brewers games here in Milwaukee. Enjoyed them greatly because the Cubbies kicked some major ass. Both Cub pitchers were amazing until the 5th. Great offense! 1st game the Cubs scored 6 in the 1st. Didn't do any tailgating because of the lousy weather, but got to see 2 Cubs' wins! &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;i&gt;Absolute Poker&lt;/i&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Have had some time to play in the last few days. Mainly .10/.20 and .25/.50. Have done okay. Back up to around $50 and looking to make that number grow. I have 5 buy-ins for .25/.50 and when I have 4 buy-ins for .50/1 I'll move up. I'm trying to build it slowly and it seems to be working. Lots of loose play has killed me, but limit is about the long haul. I wish the new AP instaplay version had tourneys. Hopefully, that's forthcoming. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;i&gt;Friday&lt;/i&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I have the opportunity to play the church game again on Friday. I don't have to work and I do have some extra ca$h. I'm not sure if I'll play, especially because of the blind structure. It's horrible. 1500 chips. 30 minute blinds. 25/50, 50/100, 100/200. So after and hour and a half, you're short stacked if you haven't doubled up. I wish they would add a 75/150 level in between there, but the guys who run it aren't poker players. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;If I had some backing, I could run a better game there and take less of a cut. Not sure what they take, but it's enough. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I'll have a tourney report if I play. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;i&gt;JOBS!!!&lt;/i&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I've been looking hard for a job and did have an interview this morning which I thought went very well. I have another step to do, kind of an assignment. Go to some stores and ask the reps about a phone and then write a report about it. Tomorrow I'll go and get that out of the way. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Didn't get in depth into anything, but leave some comments and I'll add to it. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;B&gt;GUMBY&lt;/b&gt;&lt;div class="blogger-post-footer"&gt;&lt;img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/3207198383462072232-7896731281163817923?l=pokergumby.blogspot.com' alt='' /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</content><link rel='replies' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://pokergumby.blogspot.com/feeds/7896731281163817923/comments/default' title='Post Comments'/><link rel='replies' type='text/html' href='http://www.blogger.com/comment.g?blogID=3207198383462072232&amp;postID=7896731281163817923&amp;isPopup=true' title='2 Comments'/><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/3207198383462072232/posts/default/7896731281163817923'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/3207198383462072232/posts/default/7896731281163817923'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://pokergumby.blogspot.com/2007/04/my-progress.html' title='My Progress'/><author><name>GUMBY</name><uri>http://www.blogger.com/profile/07135836910198268395</uri><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail' width='23' height='32' src='http://img81.imageshack.us/img81/2366/gumbytuxedo4qf.gif'/></author><thr:total>2</thr:total></entry><entry><id>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3207198383462072232.post-620903078535236613</id><published>2007-04-01T00:26:00.000-06:00</published><updated>2007-04-03T20:14:44.188-06:00</updated><title type='text'>Florida Wins, I Win</title><content type='html'>If Florida can come through in the National Championship game, like their football compadres, then I'll win my NCAA basketball pool. I can't go this year, even if I had the money. I'm seeing The Police July 5 at Wrigley Field in Chicago. Can't frickin' wait for that show. Back to him, he said he's getting drunk at the tables, and actually has some beers when he's playing online. Solid NL tourney player. Sends out about 100 hand histories a week though. I can't keep up. I usually delete half of them. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Still looking for some jobs. Had an interview last week with no luck. Another one on Wednesday that looks ok. Something needs to pan out one of these times. I'm putting out about 10-20 cover letters and resumes a week. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Finally watched the last episode of &lt;i&gt;Las Vegas&lt;/i&gt; and can I just say WOW! I don't know if any of you watch it, but holy crap! Is Delinda dead? Who shot Mary's child touching dad? The Montecito is getting robbed! I just hate that I have to wait such a long time to see how this all turns up. I'll be the first to tell you that the show is SOOOOO unrealistic. However, it is extremely entertaining. AND...the character of Mike Cannon has a gambling problem, especially when it comes to poker. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;As for my poker, down to about $5 on AP after I cashed out $100. I think these sites actually get pissed off at you for withdrawing money and give your money to some horrid players. I know it doesn't happen this way and I'm the first to agree with variance, but it happens that way every time for me. At AP, Bugsy's, and FT. Same results. I have the most in Bugsy's and wish that Neteller was still around so I could move money around easier. Still waiting for my $450 or so from them as are many others. I'll never go back to them, even if they do get their shit together. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I can't wait until I don't work at night anymore so I can play some larger tournaments. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Take care and good luck at the tables,&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;b&gt;Keith&lt;/b&gt;&lt;div class="blogger-post-footer"&gt;&lt;img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/3207198383462072232-7021341845975945986?l=pokergumby.blogspot.com' alt='' /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</content><link rel='replies' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://pokergumby.blogspot.com/feeds/7021341845975945986/comments/default' title='Post Comments'/><link rel='replies' type='text/html' href='http://www.blogger.com/comment.g?blogID=3207198383462072232&amp;postID=7021341845975945986&amp;isPopup=true' title='0 Comments'/><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/3207198383462072232/posts/default/7021341845975945986'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/3207198383462072232/posts/default/7021341845975945986'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://pokergumby.blogspot.com/2007/03/wsop-main-event.html' title='WSOP Main Event'/><author><name>GUMBY</name><uri>http://www.blogger.com/profile/07135836910198268395</uri><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail' width='23' height='32' src='http://img81.imageshack.us/img81/2366/gumbytuxedo4qf.gif'/></author><thr:total>0</thr:total></entry><entry><id>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3207198383462072232.post-3230676048775036589</id><published>2007-03-22T10:09:00.000-06:00</published><updated>2007-03-22T10:17:04.246-06:00</updated><title type='text'>Haven't Been Playing Much</title><content type='html'>I've only been playing about 2 hours a week for the past few weeks. My bankrolls at the various sites are under $200 because of withdrawals and some tilting. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I'm looking forward to baseball season and the opening week. Opening day at Miller Park then the Cubbies are in town that weekend. Another Cubs game at Wrigley in April against the Brewers, then many games throughout the season. WOOHOO!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Been on a few job interviews, but nothing has panned out yet on the job hunt. I've been talking to everybody and submitting many resumes and cover letters, but nada. I need the career type job so I can get the benefits and steady paycheck. The restaurant is doing fine for now, but won't give me consistent paychecks and work. Hopefully, something comes up soon. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Hope everyone is doing well at the tables. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;b&gt;GUMBY&lt;/b&gt;&lt;div class="blogger-post-footer"&gt;&lt;img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/3207198383462072232-3230676048775036589?l=pokergumby.blogspot.com' alt='' /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</content><link rel='replies' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://pokergumby.blogspot.com/feeds/3230676048775036589/comments/default' title='Post Comments'/><link rel='replies' type='text/html' href='http://www.blogger.com/comment.g?blogID=3207198383462072232&amp;postID=3230676048775036589&amp;isPopup=true' title='2 Comments'/><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/3207198383462072232/posts/default/3230676048775036589'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/3207198383462072232/posts/default/3230676048775036589'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://pokergumby.blogspot.com/2007/03/havent-been-playing-much.html' title='Haven&apos;t Been Playing Much'/><author><name>GUMBY</name><uri>http://www.blogger.com/profile/07135836910198268395</uri><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail' width='23' height='32' src='http://img81.imageshack.us/img81/2366/gumbytuxedo4qf.gif'/></author><thr:total>2</thr:total></entry><entry><id>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3207198383462072232.post-3835313972805702579</id><published>2007-02-28T01:10:00.000-06:00</published><updated>2007-02-28T14:06:40.973-06:00</updated><title type='text'>High Five for Absolute!!!</title><content type='html'>&lt;a href="http://imageshack.us"&gt;&lt;img src="http://img258.imageshack.us/img258/2258/28923304996thumbnl0.jpg" border="0" alt="Image Hosted by ImageShack.us" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;They are finally allowing me to play there again!!! They have introduced "Instant Play," a non-downloadable version of their site. Granted, you can only play Hold 'Em ring games, but still, it's a step for me. You can go there via any web browser and use Java to play the ring games. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I have $75 to start with from a refer a friend and will try to get it up there. It's hard to grind it out all the time, but can be worth it if you can keep your composure throughout a lot of weak play and getting rivered at the low limt levels. I'm playing .25/.50 right now but am already up $50. These players are sooooooo bad that you can manipulate them into thinking whatever you want. Free draws on the turn, folds when you have nothing. It's stupidly easy against most. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Check out Absolute if you haven't been there. Withdrawal options are also limited. I actually cashed out $500 directly through the poker site. They told me that it would take a while before I received the check, about 4 weeks, but it is better than paying all the fees associated with all the newcomers to the "money laundering" game. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Neteller was great with the limited fees. The only fees I ever paid there was peer to peer transfer. Now, with my money locked up for an undetermined amount of time, I'll never use Neteller again. Only to get my money out. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I haven't played for about a week after a tilt session where every hand I played lost to a suckout. These are the times where the cream rises to the top and doesn't blow up. I just need to regroup and continue on. Once I have a PC, I can play at some other sites and can bonus whore again. I need to find a trustworthy and easy use money transfer site. Any suggestions? &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;On a totally unrelated note, I saw &lt;i&gt;Borat&lt;/i&gt; at the theater last week and WOW was it funny. I couldn't believe how racist the character was. There were actually points in the movie where I couldn't laugh because it was so bad. :Nonetheless, it was laugh out loud funny with just pure oblivian to anybody feelings. WARNING!!! DO NOT READ FURTHER IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN AND DON'T WANT TO KNOW ABOUT THE MOVIE!!! The scene with Borat and his manager naked wrestling was fucking hysterical! I couldn't stop laughing. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a href="http://imageshack.us"&gt;&lt;img src="http://img451.imageshack.us/img451/6950/borat200606070531536660qe8.jpg" border="0" alt="Image Hosted by ImageShack.us" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;object width="425" height="350"&gt;&lt;param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/Vb3IMTJjzfo"&gt;&lt;/param&gt;&lt;param name="wmode" value="transparent"&gt;&lt;/param&gt;&lt;embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/Vb3IMTJjzfo" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"&gt;&lt;/embed&gt;&lt;/object&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;That's all for now!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;B&gt;GUMBY&lt;/b&gt;&lt;div class="blogger-post-footer"&gt;&lt;img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/3207198383462072232-191539604061498032?l=pokergumby.blogspot.com' alt='' /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</content><link rel='replies' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://pokergumby.blogspot.com/feeds/191539604061498032/comments/default' title='Post Comments'/><link rel='replies' type='text/html' href='http://www.blogger.com/comment.g?blogID=3207198383462072232&amp;postID=191539604061498032&amp;isPopup=true' title='0 Comments'/><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/3207198383462072232/posts/default/191539604061498032'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/3207198383462072232/posts/default/191539604061498032'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://pokergumby.blogspot.com/2007/02/depositing-options.html' title='Depositing Options...'/><author><name>GUMBY</name><uri>http://www.blogger.com/profile/07135836910198268395</uri><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail' width='23' height='32' src='http://img81.imageshack.us/img81/2366/gumbytuxedo4qf.gif'/></author><thr:total>0</thr:total></entry><entry><id>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3207198383462072232.post-819518367155261553</id><published>2007-01-25T22:36:00.000-06:00</published><updated>2007-01-25T22:40:35.803-06:00</updated><title type='text'>Kid Rock &amp; Cheli</title><content type='html'>A buddy of mine was walking into da Bears' NFC Championship game on Sunday and met Kid Rock and former Blackhawk Chris Chelios. I was recently asked these questions by a friend of mine and we and others had varying answers. Concensus on some, but others had somebody off the norm.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;How would you play these hands?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;ul&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;li&gt;1. You have 11 BB's holding 55 utg+3. It folds to you. SB is TAG with 15 BB's, BB is ave with 30 BB's.&lt;/li&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;li&gt;2. You have 9 BB's utg with AJo. BB is ave player with 24 BB's. Push/fold?&lt;/li&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;li&gt;3. Same situation with ATo.&lt;/li&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;li&gt;4. You have 13 BB's on the hijack with 44 and it folds to you. SB is tight weak with 30 BB's and BB is loose ave player with 6 BB's. Your play?&lt;/li&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;li&gt;5. You have 14 BB's utg+4 and it folds to you holding ATs. SB is chip leader with 60 BB's and kinda loose, BB is TAG with 18 BB's. Your play?&lt;/li&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;li&gt;6. You have 12 BB's on the hijack with A3s. Button is a tough thinking player with 23 BB's, SB is weak ave with 10 BB's, BB is standard TAG with 20 BB's. your play?&lt;/li&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;li&gt;7. You have 7 BB's utg with JTs, your play?&lt;/li&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;li&gt;8. You are the SB with 11 BB's holding rags and its folds to you. BB is thinking player with 26 BB's. Your play?&lt;/li&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;li&gt;9. You have 8 BB's on the hijack and it folds to you with 64s. Both SB and BB are standard players with 20ish BB's. Your play?&lt;/li&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;li&gt;10. You have 10 BB's on the button with 43s. The SB is a standard TAG with 9 BB's and the BB is an ave player with 11 BB's. SB is unknown with 26 BB's, BB TAG with 17 BB's. Your play?&lt;/li&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;li&gt;13. You are the cut off with 11 BB's holding A2s. Played in a few single table sit n gos today and did fine...up until 3, yes 3 super bad beat in a row! &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;It all started with AA and 4 people remaining. I get the big boys on the button and make a standard 3x BB raise to 360. The big blind instapushes all in for another 3K and I instacall! He has A-Q os. Flop is K-J-10! WTF! I'm out in 4th, no money. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Movin' on. Midway through the tourney, I get 99 utg and raise to 3x BB. 2 caller. Flop is 9 high, 2 spades. BB bets the pot and I raise with still some behind me so he thinks I can still fold. Like I would with any 2 cards. He puts me all in and I call. He has JJ and guess what hits the turn. A f&amp;$*in' JACK! I did get lucky on the flop, but a devastating way to lose it on the turn. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Last but not least, I am short stacked with 6 left and just doubled up with Q-9 suited against 7s. I have 1K or so and raise to, you got it 3x BB with A-Q os. Flop is Q high. I bet small so I have some behind me, just like last time. He puts me all in and I call. He shows 88 and of course the turn is an 8. Another lucky flop and unfortunate turn. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;This was all in a matter of 15 minutes. How many 2 outers and 10% chances can beat me in a short period of time. If these tourneys were for more money, I'd close the site forever. I have been running well on sit n gos, kinda my thing nowadays. But it's hard to make a good profit when these beats kill you, especially your motivation. They just knock you down to mess with your head. I'm getting warm just thinking about them. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;ENUFF OF THIS SHENANIGANS! I want to get back to winning! Fuck all this bad luck! &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Better Luck than Me at the Tables,&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;b&gt;Keith&lt;/b&gt;&lt;div class="blogger-post-footer"&gt;&lt;img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/3207198383462072232-626666897363953107?l=pokergumby.blogspot.com' alt='' /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</content><link rel='replies' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://pokergumby.blogspot.com/feeds/626666897363953107/comments/default' title='Post Comments'/><link rel='replies' type='text/html' href='http://www.blogger.com/comment.g?blogID=3207198383462072232&amp;postID=626666897363953107&amp;isPopup=true' title='0 Comments'/><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/3207198383462072232/posts/default/626666897363953107'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/3207198383462072232/posts/default/626666897363953107'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://pokergumby.blogspot.com/2007/01/sit-n-go-frustration.html' title='Sit &apos;N Go Frustration!'/><author><name>GUMBY</name><uri>http://www.blogger.com/profile/07135836910198268395</uri><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail' width='23' height='32' src='http://img81.imageshack.us/img81/2366/gumbytuxedo4qf.gif'/></author><thr:total>0</thr:total></entry><entry><id>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3207198383462072232.post-4645717031312442827</id><published>2007-01-18T01:12:00.000-06:00</published><updated>2007-01-18T01:22:14.219-06:00</updated><title type='text'>Home Games Busted &amp; Neteller</title><content type='html'>Got a few links for ya here! About 1 in a million chance of winning anything. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I'm going to do some research and find the best site or online bank for transfering funds back and forth. We'll see. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Looking like online poker just took another hit!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Good Luck,&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;b&gt;Keith&lt;/b&gt;&lt;div class="blogger-post-footer"&gt;&lt;img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/3207198383462072232-4645717031312442827?l=pokergumby.blogspot.com' alt='' /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</content><link rel='replies' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://pokergumby.blogspot.com/feeds/4645717031312442827/comments/default' title='Post Comments'/><link rel='replies' type='text/html' href='http://www.blogger.com/comment.g?blogID=3207198383462072232&amp;postID=4645717031312442827&amp;isPopup=true' title='0 Comments'/><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/3207198383462072232/posts/default/4645717031312442827'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/3207198383462072232/posts/default/4645717031312442827'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://pokergumby.blogspot.com/2007/01/home-games-busted-neteller.html' title='Home Games Busted &amp; Neteller'/><author><name>GUMBY</name><uri>http://www.blogger.com/profile/07135836910198268395</uri><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail' width='23' height='32' src='http://img81.imageshack.us/img81/2366/gumbytuxedo4qf.gif'/></author><thr:total>0</thr:total></entry><entry><id>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3207198383462072232.post-6003908505054127023</id><published>2007-01-16T19:42:00.000-06:00</published><updated>2007-01-16T20:35:30.558-06:00</updated><title type='text'>What Are My Goals?</title><content type='html'>I was playing online today and realized that I have just been playing for fun lately. This isn't all bad, but without goals for myself, I don't know if I'm progressing in my poker career or just skating by a mediocre player. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I am a winning poker player, but does this make me good? I don't know. The goal I had for myself is playing in a $10,000 buy in event this year. Winning my seat in an onine satellite of course. But sometimes this is difficult to do because of the time of each tourney. You must be there each and every step of the way. I would like to buy-in directly for $200 or so, but that would be a majority of my bankroll. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Setting goals for myself will help me accomplish this. So here we go. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;i&gt;&lt;ul&gt;&lt;li&gt;Goal 1-Win $2,000 playing online. This will mean playing 1 big buy-in event per week. By big I mean $30. So, big for my roll of &lt; $400. &lt;/li&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;li&gt;Goal 2-Play in the FTOPS final event. It's a $530 buy-in so definitely satellite into it. &lt;/li&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;li&gt;Goal 3-Have 1 credit card paid off completely with poker winnings. Even if I need to start by bankroll at $10 again. &lt;/li&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;li&gt;Goal 4-Win a $10,000 buy-in online. Possibly through cashing in points at Absolute for a $200 tourney buy-in. &lt;/li&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;li&gt;Goal 5-Take more time during hands to think about what my opponent may have (this is more a helpful reminder). &lt;/li&gt;&lt;/ul&gt;&lt;/i&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I think this is a good start. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Lastly, play soid poker every single time I sit down. If I'm not playing well, stop and do something else!!!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Good luck with your goals,&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;b&gt;Keith&lt;/b&gt;&lt;div class="blogger-post-footer"&gt;&lt;img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/3207198383462072232-6003908505054127023?l=pokergumby.blogspot.com' alt='' /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</content><link rel='replies' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://pokergumby.blogspot.com/feeds/6003908505054127023/comments/default' title='Post Comments'/><link rel='replies' type='text/html' href='http://www.blogger.com/comment.g?blogID=3207198383462072232&amp;postID=6003908505054127023&amp;isPopup=true' title='0 Comments'/><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/3207198383462072232/posts/default/6003908505054127023'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/3207198383462072232/posts/default/6003908505054127023'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://pokergumby.blogspot.com/2007/01/what-are-my-goals.html' title='What Are My Goals?'/><author><name>GUMBY</name><uri>http://www.blogger.com/profile/07135836910198268395</uri><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail' width='23' height='32' src='http://img81.imageshack.us/img81/2366/gumbytuxedo4qf.gif'/></author><thr:total>0</thr:total></entry><entry><id>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3207198383462072232.post-7277967627459558661</id><published>2007-01-13T14:35:00.000-06:00</published><updated>2007-01-17T16:58:36.771-06:00</updated><title type='text'>What a Crappy Showing!</title><content type='html'>I went and played in the church game. Great food! Beer was cold! Play was....well...less than perfect. I got there about 6:15 and played a little Sheepshead Poker. It's a Wiscahnsin (sound it out) game. Had to be refreshed and lost about a buck before the "big game" started at 7. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;By big game, I mean more money. Not necessarily good play. Every continuation bet was called down by a flush draw, bottom pair, Ace high. it was a horrible day. I couldn't tell you how many times 4 players saw the flop on a raise, then 3 saw the turn on another raise. Then check, check, check. And a tiny bet on river. Lots of loose play and I don't think more than 10 people in the entire room actually knew how to play poker. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Enough of that ranting. Our table broke, and I was moved to a full table. I had 425 left with blinds of 50/100. Not a huge fan of the structure and I'm not sure if I'll play in another one. First Ace or pair, I"m pushing. First hand, I get A-7 in mid position and push. Limper before me, a guy I know, pushes his all in for another 500 and he had A-3 diamonds and we get called by A-5 os. So I have the best of it going in. 2 diamonds on flop, 3 on the turn, 2 outer doesn't hit. NH GG! Played ok, but disappointing results. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Played in two more side games. $20 8-person and went out in 4th for nothing. Good structure, because I ran it. Then a $20 17-person and the structure was push or fold after about 1 round. I went out with A-10 utg all in called by A-Q. Still had some chips, but was all in for 75 with blinds 200/400. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;i&gt;Not Done Yet&lt;/I&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;After that was feeling bad, but not tired. I played online. Made up the $100 I lost by winning $250. Won a $10 sit n go for $50, then took 3rd in a $10 MTT rebuy for $133. Played 2 NL .10/.25 tables and sat with $13. Won $5 on one. Cashed out with $63 at the other. Made some huge hands against a chip dumper. He was just giving his chips away. Had KK and got some cash. Set of 2s for some more. Top pair 10s for more. It was ridonkulous. I didn't go to bed until 4:30 because the tourney took so long. Last hand, I had 3s in the sb. Pot-size raise. BB calls. Flop 2-2-8. I bet pot. He calls. Turn Q. My play? I push all in and get insta called by A-2. Sonuvabitch! &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;All in all I had a complete poker filled day so I'm done for a couple days. Cashed out $400 at Bugsy's Club and have around $300 left there. Working tonight and looking forward to da Bears' game tomorrow. Then going out to dinner with the fam in Chicago area. Sister's and mom's birthday. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Hope everyone is doing well,&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;b&gt;Keith&lt;/b&gt;&lt;div class="blogger-post-footer"&gt;&lt;img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/3207198383462072232-7277967627459558661?l=pokergumby.blogspot.com' alt='' /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</content><link rel='replies' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://pokergumby.blogspot.com/feeds/7277967627459558661/comments/default' title='Post Comments'/><link rel='replies' type='text/html' href='http://www.blogger.com/comment.g?blogID=3207198383462072232&amp;postID=7277967627459558661&amp;isPopup=true' title='0 Comments'/><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/3207198383462072232/posts/default/7277967627459558661'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/3207198383462072232/posts/default/7277967627459558661'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://pokergumby.blogspot.com/2007/01/what-crappy-showing.html' title='What a Crappy Showing!'/><author><name>GUMBY</name><uri>http://www.blogger.com/profile/07135836910198268395</uri><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail' width='23' height='32' src='http://img81.imageshack.us/img81/2366/gumbytuxedo4qf.gif'/></author><thr:total>0</thr:total></entry><entry><id>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3207198383462072232.post-7789052160383992657</id><published>2007-01-12T13:24:00.000-06:00</published><updated>2007-01-24T15:27:55.737-06:00</updated><title type='text'>Had to Post This...</title><content type='html'>...while it was on my mind. I was looking through ITH and saw many critiques of how hands were played. Now, there is no right or wrong was to play a hand. It all depends. If you flopped top pair top kicker, do you play it this way or that way. Well, whatever wins you the most money or loses you the least money. Are you ahead or are you beat? &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;What Dan Harrington employs in Harrington on Hold 'Em is that there's a percentage that each play should be used. Raise sometimes and call sometimes to a bet with a certain hand. Mixing it up is where the great players make their money. I read a post where someone said the other player played the hand strange, but he ended up having the best hand AND getting all the money in with it. Strange maybe, but was it a predictable play. Definitely not! &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;If this was 2+2 there would've been the right and wrong play. I don't post at 2+2 but like to read hand examples. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;That's it! &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Keith&lt;div class="blogger-post-footer"&gt;&lt;img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/3207198383462072232-7789052160383992657?l=pokergumby.blogspot.com' alt='' /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;</content><link rel='replies' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://pokergumby.blogspot.com/feeds/7789052160383992657/comments/default' title='Post Comments'/><link rel='replies' type='text/html' href='http://www.blogger.com/comment.g?blogID=3207198383462072232&amp;postID=7789052160383992657&amp;isPopup=true' title='2 Comments'/><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/3207198383462072232/posts/default/7789052160383992657'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/3207198383462072232/posts/default/7789052160383992657'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://pokergumby.blogspot.com/2007/01/had-to-post-this.html' title='Had to Post This...'/><author><name>GUMBY</name><uri>http://www.blogger.com/profile/07135836910198268395</uri><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail' width='23' height='32' src='http://img81.imageshack.us/img81/2366/gumbytuxedo4qf.gif'/></author><thr:total>2</thr:total></entry><entry><id>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3207198383462072232.post-2705859609773624550</id><published>2007-01-12T02:33:00.000-06:00</published><updated>2007-01-12T02:39:21.280-06:00</updated><title type='text'>Racks and Stacks</title><content type='html'>Thought it was a nice title for a post. Looking at some of the online players, I wonder where they are getting all their money. It seems that some of them should've been broke a long time ago. Are they reloading or are they actually winning someone's money? &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;This is technically my 100th post and man has it seemed like I just started this yesterday. The old site is gone...well...not being used anymore. Let me hear some feedback about the new site please.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;As always, looking for link swaps with anybody that has a quality blog site. I like the reading too. It's good to get into other poker player's heads and see what they're thinking throughout a hand and a session or tourney. The more you know! &lt;a href="http://imageshack.us"&gt;&lt;img src="http://img180.imageshack.us/img180/5283/themoreyouknow775718dz2.jpg" border="0" alt="Image Hosted by ImageShack.us" /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The church tourney is tomorrow!
